After the destruction of Dolza's fleet at the end of the First
Robotech War the majority of the remaining Zentraedi on Earth were integrated
into human society. Some Zentraedi, however, could not acclimate and joined with
renegade Zentraedi elements scattered around the globe. These groups of
Zentraedi were collectively known as Malcontents. In 2018 a new leader emerged
who unified the various Malcontent groups into a new Zentraedi army and led them
in one last violent struggle against humanity. This struggle came to be called
the Malcontent Uprisings, and the war's consequences would alter the balance of
power on Earth for decades to come.
