Talarian Republic
The Talarian Republic is the sovereign nation of the Talarians, an aggressive and warlike near-Klingon species. While they are a warp-capable species, the Talarians currently possess somewhat inferior technology and weaponry in comparison to the Federation's, and even the Cardassians.
Government
The Talarian political structure is rigidly patriarchal, where a woman could never outrank a man. War plays an important role in Talarian culture, and warrior-like behavior is strongly encouraged in males. During the mid-24th century, the Talarians were involved in a series of small skirmishes with the United Federation of Planets, most notably the Galen border conflict, which lasted until 2357.
Physiology
Talarians are a humanoid species characterized by a distinctive hairless enlargement of the coronal area of the skull extending in two lobes to the back of the head. Talarian blood was red, and Talarians were susceptible to radiation burns and respiratory distress.
