BRIGGAN,
Jack
- Serial Number: SC-667-341
- Rank: Captain
- Assignment: Commanding Officer
- Vessel: U.S.S. Excalibur
(Tiberius Class NCC-1991)
- Division: Galaxy Exploration
Command
- Assignment Start Date: 45152.8
- Race: Human (Alpha Centauran)
- Date of Birth: 13419.0
- Place of Birth: New Athens, Al
Rigil (Alpha Centauri IV)
- Graduated Academy: 36038.4
History:
Jack Briggan was raised in a rural community on Alpha
Centauri IV. He was the second of seven children and
seemed likely to become a farmer like his father and
older brother. It was on a school trip that Jack got his
first taste of space travel and he was in love. Studying
hard to improve his grades, Jack applied and was accepted
to Starfleet Academy.
Starfleet Record:
Jack's Starfleet career very nearly ended before it
began when he contracted Rigellian Fever during his first
year. He received treatment in time and was able to
continue his studies. Jack focused his studies on the
Command branch knowing it was the fastest way to get on a
starship. His performance at the Academy didn't give any
indication of command ability, in fact Jack seemed more
interested in his female classmates than his studies
earning him a reputation as a ladies man. After
graduation Jack performed well enough, but not
exceptionally on his first assignment: routine planetary
surveys aboard the Miranda Class USS Troy. It was not
until his second tour aboard the Ambassador Class
Explorer vessel USS Drake that Jack began to excel. Out
on the frontier Ensign Briggan was in his element. He
began to assume leadership roles and earned quick
promotions. His performance continued to improve through
his tour on the Constellation Class USS Perseus and he
was soon promoted to full Commander and assigned as First
Officer on board the USS Hood, replacing Will Riker (who
had just accepted the XO position on the Enterprise).
After four years on the Hood, Jack was transferred to the
USS Excalibur to server as her Executive Officer.
Update:
When Captain McCabe was removed from active duty due
to his actions during an encounter with the Romulans,
Jack was given temporary command of the Excalibur. His
actions in fending off an attack on the Pallas XIV Peace
Conference earned him a promotion to Captain and he was
formally given command of the USS Excalibur on stardate
45825.5. Jack served as commander of the Excalibur for
nearly three years earning several awards including the
Andorian Battlestar and Starfleet Medal of Valor (for his
actions at Pallas XIV), a second Medal of Valor, and the
Prantares Ribbon (1st Class). Captain Briggan's Starfleet
career ended when he was hit with anear fatal disruptor
blast. The injury aggravated the neural damage caused by
his bout with Rigellian Fever at the Academy. He was
transferred to Starfleet headquarters for medical
reasons, his condition rendering him unfit for space
duty, on stardate 48???. Soon after Jack resigned from
Starfleet and returned to Alpha Centauri IV to pursue his
other love, archaeology.

SETH
- Serial Number: SC-430-9140
- Rank: Commander
- Assignment: Executive Officer
- Vessel: U.S.S. Excalibur
(Tiberius Class NCC-1991)
- Division: Galaxy Exploration
Command
- Assignment Start Date: 46100.1
- Race: Vulcan
- Date of Birth: 11390.9
- Place of Birth: T'khasi Colony
- Graduated Academy: 33314.6
(Honors)
History:
Seth is the only child of Sutekh (a Vulcan historian)
and his wife T'Jaan. Seth is named after the legendary
warbird of the old Vulcan War god Khossar. His father's
studies took the family all over the Federation and
Seth's education in Vulcan ways was neglected. Because of
this, Seth never mastered traditional Vulcan emotional
control. His lack of training caused him to be a pariah
among other Vulcans who could easily recognize his lack
of control. Uncomfortable among his own people, Seth
chose to join Starfleet rather than go to school on
Vulcan.
Starfleet Record:
While studying at Starfleet Academy, Seth was
diagnosed as having a rare but treatable neurological
disorder. Since the disorder was hereditary, Starfleet
medical personnel checked Seth's father's medical
records, but were unable to find any. A detailed genetic
scan revealed that Seth was half Romulan, his father was
a spy for the Empire (a fact not known to Seth or his
mother). 'Sutekh' fled back to Romulan space before
Starfleet security forces could catch him. Sutekh's true
identity as a spy was deemed classified information, thus
Seth's dual heritage is only known to himself and a few
high-ranking officers in Starfleet Intelligence. Seth was
allowed to continue his studies and he eventually
graduated from the Academy with Honors. Initially unsure
of Seth's loyalty, his first assignment was to a survey
ship, the Miranda Class USS Ranger (someone with Seth's
high grades would have gotten a better assignment).
Though his performance rating on this tour was
Outstanding, he was again given a low-risk assignment,
this time planet-bound at the Melano Colony. Seth
discovered that the colony commander was spying for the
Cardassians and confronted him. In the ensuing struggle
Seth's Vulcan strength gave him the upper hand and the
commander was accidentally killed. Seth faced a court
martial but was exonerated when proof of the commander's
spying was established. His loyalty to the Federation now
proven Seth's next assignment was aboard the Excelsior
Class USS Alamo. Seth's love affair with Lt. Sheila
Douglas (one of the Alamo's nurses) ended tragically when
she was killed in a shuttle accident. Seth's performance
on the Alamo earned him a promotion and an assignment to
the Nebula Class USS Merrimac serving on the front lines
in the Cardassian War. During an away mission Seth and
his team were captured and spent three months in a POW
camp before participating in an escape led by future
Excalibur Chief Engineer Wilkerson. Seth's next
assignment was aboard the USS Melbourne, where he fell in
love with the ship's counselor. This relationship also
ended tragically when she was killed along with most of
the rest of the Melbourne's crew at Wolf 359. After
recovering from injuries he sustained at Wolf 359 Seth
was assigned as First Officer on the Renaissance Class
USS Aries. After serving on the Aries for a year, Seth
was set to become the First Officer on the USS Okinawa
and was one of the few to survive that ship's destruction
at the hand's of the Kzinti. Rescued by the Excalibur,
Seth was offered a position on that vessel and became
Captain Briggan's Executive Officer.
Update:
Seth served as first officer until his disappearance
on an away mission on stardate 46971.3. On that stardate
the Excalibur encountered the enigmatic Gary Seven.
Several of Seven's colleagues had gone rogue and were
attempting to alter history. Unable to pursue them
himself, Seven sent members of the Excalibur's command
crew into the past. Seth was sent to ancient Vulcan to
stop the rogue from preventing the Romulan exodus from
Vulcan. Seth was trapped in the past and soon became
friends with the Vulcan S'Task, who had once been Surak's
greatest student but was now leading the movement against
Surak that would lead to the Romulan separation. Seth
chose to accompany S'Task and the others in the long
journey to what would eventually become the Romulan
homeworld and was in command of one of the colony ships.
During the journey Seth's vessel was damaged and was
thought lost by the rest of the colony fleet. In fact the
ship was rescued by the Preservers. The members of that
powerful and mysterious race transplanted the colonists,
including Seth, to an artificial Ringworld. Seth and the
others established a home on one of the enormous island
continents of the artificial world. Seth eventually
married one of his fellow colonists. As they grew older,
Seth and his wife left the colony to explore the
Ringworld. They eventually stumbled across an unusual
plant that could restore physical health. Though they
were both over 150 years old, Seth and his wife were as
healthy as they had been in their youth. With a supply of
the plant they spent many more years exploring before
they discovered that the control mechanisms of the
Ringworld were failing. They discovered the world's
control center and attempted to repair the systems, but
to do so would result in them both being exposed to
lethal doses of radiation. Before he could react, Seth's
wife enveloped him in a Preserver stasis field and
sacrificed herself to save the Ringworld. Seth remained
frozen in the stasis field for millennia before he was
freed, by the crew of the Excalibur! By their reckoning
he had been gone less than a year, but to him it had been
several lifetimes. After some therapy to readjust to life
in Starfleet, Seth resumed his role as First Officer.
When Captain Briggan was removed from command for medical
reasons, Seth received a brevet promotion to Captain and
commanded the Excalibur until her return to spacedock for
the refit back to Ambassador Class status a few months
later. Afterward, Seth's promotion was made permanent and
he was given command of one of the new Defiant Class
ships and led her on several successful special
operations missions during the war with the Dominion.

Dar Jak, and his twin brother Jar Dak, were born on
the USS Arizona where there mother was a science officer.
Both twins enrolled in the Symbiont Initiates program in
the hopes of becoming joined. Once his first tour after
completing Starfleet Academy (with honors) was finished
Dar Jak was chosen to be joined with the 250 year-old
Grel symbiont (he is the seventh Grel host). Jar Dak
would also be selected for joining and is now host to the
Gaan symbiont. The fact that there are two joined Trills
in the family is considered a great honor.
Starfleet Record:
After being joined Dar Jak served aboard the
Ambassador Class USS Citadel. The only blemish on his
otherwise outstanding performance on this tour was the
accidental death of a civilian during an away mission, a
death which still weighs on Grel's conscience. After his
tour on the Citadel was finished Grel was transferred to
the Excalibur where he assumed the post of Operations
Manager.
Update:
Grel remained aboard the Excalibur at Ops until the
ship's refit back to Ambassador Class. During his tour he
participated in many important missions. His performance
earned him several commendations as well as two Medals of
Valor, the Prantares Ribbon (1st Class), and the Silver
Palm (with clusters). After his tour on the Excalibur was
complete, Grel was promoted to Commander and is serving
as the First Officer aboard the USS Pulsar.

M'KORRL
- Serial Number: SE-185-258
- Rank: Lieutenant Commander
- Assignment: Chief Engineering
Officer
- Vessel: U.S.S. Excalibur
(Tiberius Class NCC-1991)
- Division: Galaxy Exploration
Command
- Assignment Start Date: 47101.6
- Race: Caitian
- Date of Birth: 16803.1
- Place of Birth: Starbase 224
- Graduated Academy: 38426.6
(Honors)
History:
M'Korrl was born and raised on Starbase 224 where his
parents, both Starfleet officers, were assigned. He
formed a strong friendship with three other children on
the base, a Tellarite named Gurnn and two human girls:
Raven Durant and Elizabeth Farraday. Together they
referred to themselves as the "224some"
(pronounced two-two-foursome) and they remain
close friends to this day (Raven is now a Federation
official on Earth and the others are in Starfleet). The
four of them shared many adventures on, and off, the
station. As teenagers, M'Korrl and Raven snuck onto a
Rigellian trade vessel docked at the Starbase. They were
found, but were allowed to work for passage. This was
M'Korrl's first real exposure to engineering and
maintenance and he loved it. After a couple of years
working their way around the Federation Raven and M'Korrl
returned to Starbase 224 where M'Korrl applied to the
Academy and was accepted into the school of Engineering.
Starfleet Record:
M'Korrl graduated from the Academy with honors and his
first assignment was on the Ambassador Class USS
Agincourt. While on leave visiting his parents at
Starbase 224 the base was attacked by Cardassians.
M'Korrl and his parents were taken captive along with
other survivors of the attack. They were separated and
M'Korrl wound up in the same POW camp as Sheldon
Wilkerson and Seth and participated in Wilkerson's
successful escape from the camp. After a four year stint
on board an Academy teaching vessel M'Korrl was assigned
as Chief Engineer of the Oberth Class USS Van Gelder.
When Sheldon Wilkerson was transferred to Spacedock he
recommended M'Korrl to replace him as Chief Engineer on
the Excalibur.
Update:
On the Excalibur M'Korrl became good friends with the
ship's Ops mnager Dar Jak Grel. During his tour on the
Excalibur he earned several commendations, the Starfleet
Medal of Valor, the Prantares Ribbon, and the Silver Palm
(with clusters). M'Korrl remained as Chief Engineer of
the Excalibur until her refit back to Ambassador Class.
Afterwards he was transferred to the Nebula Class USS
Endeavor and served with honor during the Dominion War.

BHAKAL,
Khorin
- Serial Number: ST-513-729
- Rank: Lieutenant
- Assignment: Tactical Officer
- Vessel: U.S.S. Excalibur
(Tiberius Class NCC-1991)
- Division: Galaxy Exploration
Command
- Assignment Start Date: 47749.5
- Race: Bajoran
- Date of Birth: 16242.8
- Place of Birth: Ka-maar
Province, Bajor
- Graduated Academy: 37392.4
(Honors)
History:
Khorin was born on the same day the Cardassians
formally annexed Bajor. Her mother, Khorin Janna, was
killed when she was six. It was suspected that she was a
member of the Kohn-ma terrorist cell. When she was eight
her father bribed a Ferengi merchant captain to smuggle
her away from Bajor. She would never see her father
again. She spent several years working menial jobs on
Ferengi ships, pretending to be a boy because of the
Ferengi's view of females, before she fled at age 15. She
managed to make her way to Federation space as a refugee
and applied for citizenship. After becoming a Federation
citizen she immediately applied to Starfleet Academy.
Starfleet Record:
While on her cadet cruise aboard the USS Intrepid she
learned something of what had happened to her father. The
Intrepid was helping relocate Bajoran refugees and among
them was Khorin's aunt. After her father had gotten her
off Bajor, the Cardassians raided the Khorin home. Her
whole family, including her father, was arrested and the
house was burned to the ground. Her aunt had been badly
burned in the fire and blamed Khorin. After graduating
with honors Khorin served as security on a small colony
before being transferred to the USS Atlantis. After
serving three years there she was assigned to tactical on
board the USS Ulysses. Her excellent performance there
earned her the position of Chief Tactical Officer on
board the Excalibur, replacing the departing Lt. Erica
Murphy.
Update:
Khorin served aboard the Excalibur until the ship'
return to Spacedock. She was promoted to Lieutenant
Commander and now serves as the Operations Officer aboard
the USS Tien-an-men.

GARNEAU,
François
- Serial Number: SC-625-9821
- Rank: Lieutenant (Junior Grade)
- Assignment: Flight Control
Officer
- Vessel: U.S.S. Excalibur
(Tiberius Class NCC-1991)
- Division: Galaxy Exploration
Command
- Assignment Start Date: 47250.9
- Race: Human
- Date of Birth: 21676.9
- Place of Birth: Ambassador Class
USS Horatio
- Graduated Academy: 44782.9
(Honors)
History:
François Garneau's father, Jean Garneau, was first
officer on the Ambassador Class USS Horatio. Jean married
the Horatio's counselor (who was half-Betazoid) and they
transferred to Starbase 11 after the birth of their son,
François. They raised François on the Starbase and when
he was old enough he applied to and was accepted into
Starfleet Academy.
Starfleet Record:
Having been stuck on the Starbase most of his life,
watching the ship's come and go and longing to be on
them, Garneau chose the command branch, figuring it to be
the quickest way onto a starship. During his second year
he and the group of cadets he was with on a field trip
were caught in a cave-in. The officer's leading the trip
were injured and radioactivity in the cave threatened the
away team. Garneau took command and was able to lead the
team out of the caverns. He was awarded the Star Cross
for Meritorious Service for his actions. He graduated the
Academy with honors and served his first tour in Military
Operations Command aboard the USS Izar. With no active
conflicts on at the time the tour was a dull one. His
next tour would give him all the excitement he could
handle, Flight Control Officer on the USS Excalibur.
Update:
Though his tour on the Excalibur lasted less than a
year, in that time his actions earned him the Karagite
Order of Heroism, the Starfleet Medal of Valor, and the
Silver Palm (with clusters). After the Excalibur's re-commissioning as an Ambassador Class Garneau was
promoted to full Lieutenant and was assigned as Flight
Control Officer on the USS Phoenix.

MURPHY,
Erica
- Serial Number: ST-612-200
- Rank: Lieutenant
- Assignment: Tactical Officer
- Vessel: U.S.S. Excalibur
(Tiberius Class NCC-1991)
- Division: Galaxy Exploration
Command
- Assignment Start Date: 46510.3
- Race: Human
- Date of Birth: 16491.3
- Place of Birth: Winnipeg,
Manitoba Sector, Earth (Sol III)
- Graduated Academy: 39370.1
(Honors)
History:
Erica is the only child of Joseph and Annette Murphy,
both officials in Earthgov. Though she had no siblings,
Erica was close to her cousin Timothy. Because of her
parents' positions Erica was exposed to Starfleet
throughout her life, often accompanying her parents on
diplomatic assignments. Her parents connections, and some
of her own, made it easy for her to enter Starfleet
Academy.
Starfleet Record:
During Erica's first year she and several other cadets
were lost and presumed killed when their shuttlecraft was
damaged in the Gamma Hydra sector. In reality the shuttle
drifted into the Neutral Zone and the surviving cadets
were found by the Romulans. The cadets were held for
nearly a year before Starfleet Special Forces were able
to raid the prison camp they were being held at. Erica
was the only cadet to make it out alive. To avoid a major
incident both the Federation and Romulans covered up the
whole matter. The camp commander was punished severely
and Starfleet classified the incident. As far as anyone
was concerned the shuttle had crashed and Cadet Erica
Murphy was the only survivor. Erica returned to her
studies at the Academy, but her experience had hardened
her. She transferred from the command branch to
security/tactical. She graduated with honors, having
served her final cadet cruise on board the USS Thomas
Paine under Captain Rixx during part of the Cardassian
War. After graduation Erica hoped to remain in Military
Operations Command but instead found herself assigned to
the Miranda Class USS Idaho doing routine planetary
surveys. The boredom, and later the loss of her cousin
Tim during the war, severely affected her performance and
she next found herself planet side, handling security on
the Federation colony on Trelundir VIII. It began to look
like she might not get back into space at all, but her
luck changed. Ensign Murphy helped a senior Starfleet
official out of a particularly embarrassing situation and
he used his influence to get her assigned to the
Ambassador Class USS Zhukov. Once back in space Erica's
performance improved dramatically. She was swiftly
promoted to lieutenant and when her tour on the Zhukov
was up she was assigned as Tactical Officer on the
Excalibur.
Update:
Erica was the longest serving Tactical Officer on the
Excalibur during Captain Briggan's command. She earned
several commendations and was awarded the Starfleet Medal
of Valor and the Prantares Ribbon (1st Class). At one
point during her tour Lt. Murphy was recruited by
Starfleet Intelligence, along with Commander Seth, for a
covert mission into Romluan space. During this mission
Erica encountered the Romulan who had been in command of
the camp she was imprisoned in as a cadet. He was in
exile but was scheming to get back in the good graces of
the Romulan military. Erica and Seth stopped his plan and
she killed him, gaining an measure of vengeance for her
fellow cadets. After her tour of duty on the Excalibur
was finished Erica was again approached by Starfleet
Intelligence. Her assignments since then remain
classified, but are suspected to involve the Romulans.

WILKERSON,
Sheldon E.
- Serial Number: SE-7489-755
- Rank: Lieutenant Commander
- Assignment: Chief Engineering
Officer
- Vessel: U.S.S. Excalibur
(Tiberius Class NCC-1991)
- Division: Galaxy Exploration
Command
- Assignment Start Date: 45025.4
- Race: Human
- Date of Birth: 09971.3
- Place of Birth: Kingston,
Ontario Sector, Earth (Sol III)
- Graduated Academy: 31703.9
History:
Sheldon Wilkerson is the fourth of five children born
to Alexander and Melinda Wilkerson, both Science
Officers. As a child of Starfleet officer Sheldon spent
most of his childhood on the various ships and starbases
his parents were assigned to. At one point when he was
thirteen, Sheldon was instrumental in exposing a Romulan
spy plot on Starbase 313. Though his parents wanted him
to become a scientist like themselves, Sheldon falsified
some of his entry papers to Starfleet Academy to ensure
he was assigned to Engineering as a specialty.
Starfleet Record:
While at the Academy, Cadet Wilkerson again thwarted a
Romulan spy, earning him the first of several
commendations. Wilkerson's first assignment, aboard the
Constellation Class USS Polaris, ended abruptly when the
entire crew except Sheldon vanished during an encounter
with an unknown alien craft. The mystery of the Polaris
would not be solved until several years later. Sheldon
met his wife, Christine, while serving aboard the USS
Royal Centauri. They are still together and have two
children, Colm and Samantha. While serving aboard the USS
Cochrane, Wilkerson was part of a landing party taken
prisoner during the Cardassian War. He spent two months
in a POW camp before leading an escape. He and several
other Starfleet prisoners, including Seth, were able to
return safely to Federation controlled space.
Update:
Wilkerson began his tour on the Exclibur when she was
just finishing warp trials after being refit as a
Tiberius Class. He served under Commander William Riker
on the Romulan blockade during the Klingon Civil War.
During his tour of duty on the Excalibur he performed
well beyond the call of duty receiving the Starfleet
Medal of Valor three times, the Prantares Ribbon (1st
Class) and several commendations. On stardate 47105.3
Lieutenant Commander Wilkerson received a promotion to
Commander and was assigned to Earth Station McKinley
Fleet Yards, where he would later serve as project leader
during the Excalibur's refit back to Ambassador Class
designation.

THAIRGON
- Serial Number: SC-507-465
- Rank: Lieutenant
- Assignment: Tactical Officer
- Vessel: U.S.S. Excalibur
(Tiberius Class NCC-1991)
- Division: Galaxy Exploration
Command
- Assignment Start Date: 45027.6
- Race: Andorian
- Date of Birth: 14793.2
- Place of Birth: City of Tarkesh,
Andor
- Graduated Academy: 36784.3
(Honors)
History:
Thairgon was born to a middle class family on Andor.
Rather than be stuck on his homeworld all his life, the
Andorian dedicated himself to earning admission to
Starfleet Academy. His aggressive determination paid off
and he entered the Academy, specializing in Command.
Thairgon's determination continued to serve him well and
he graduated from the Academy with Honors.
Starfleet Record:
It was after graduation that Thairgon's aggressive
nature began to hurt him. While it had helped him
overcome all of the obstacles in his way at the Academy,
Thairgon's aggressiveness only seemed to aggravate his
commanding officers. Thairgon went from assignment to
assignment, never advancing in rank or position.
Eventually he was assigned as Flight Control Officer
aboard the Excalibur.
Update:
Excalibur's Captain, Robert McCabe, recognized
Thairgon's aggressiveness and encouraged the Andorian to
channel that energy more productively. When the
Excalibur's Tactical Officer was killed in battle with
the parasitic alien invaders, McCabe gave Thairgon a
field promotion to Lieutenant and assigned him
temporarily as the new Tactical Officer. Thairgon
excelled in his new role. Soon the promotion was made
permanent and he was assigned a Chief Tactical Officer on
the USS Okinawa. That tour was short-lived, the Okinawa
was destroyed in battle with the Kzinti, and Thairgon
returned to the Excalibur, permanently assuming the role
of Tactical Officer until stardate 46525.4 when he was
assigned as Tactical Officer to the USS Remora.
